The superstar took to her personal website this weekend to reveal that she has sent Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron a letter in which she demands that charges are taken against the police officers involved in the killing of Breonna Taylor back in March. As you might know, Breonna is one of the many black Americans who have lost their lives due to systemic racism and police brutality.

And just like many other victims, those responsible for her death are yet to be punished.

But Beyonce will not rest until she sees justice being done for the 26 year old EMT who was shot no less than 8 times in the middle of the night while she was sleeping in her own bed.

Three police officers executed a no knock search warrant, entering her apartment unannounced, at night.

As a result, her boyfriend, Kenneth Walker got scared that intruders had entered their home and shot first, injuring one of the officers.

In response, the cops opened fire, shooting over 20 times, 8 of the shots striking Taylor who at the time was simply in her bed, sleeping.

In the letter, Beyonce writes: ‘While ‘Breonna’s Law’ passed in Louisville and federal legislation has been introduced that will also ban no-knock warrants, these small steps in the right direction are painful reminders that there still has been no justice for Breonna Taylor and her family. Three months have passed — and the LMPD’s investigations have created more questions than answers.’

The singer went on to say that ‘Their incident report states that Ms. Taylor suffered no injuries – yet we know she was shot at least eight times. The LMPD officers claim they announced themselves before forcing their way into Ms. Taylor’s apartment – but her boyfriend who was with her, as well as several neighbors, all say that this is untrue.’

Queen Bey also pointed out that the officers involved have not been arrested, nor have they even been fired while an investigation in this case is still ongoing.

She pleaded with Cameron not to let this tragedy be without justice and to prove that the life of a black woman is valuable enough to ensure prison time for the perpetrators.
