Lain Patterson, a member of the Wapakoneta YMCA, passed away on Thursday, October 5th, 2023, at the age of 23. He was surrounded by his beloved family who will forever miss him. He was born in Lima on August 2, 2000, to Joshua Allen Patterson and Della Ann Grigsby.

Life and Achievements

Lain Patterson attended Spencerville High School and graduated in 2019. He was a devoted and dedicated member of the Midwest Shooting Center and the Northwestern Ohio Field and Stream. He was also part of the Wapakoneta YMCA. He worked at Allen Oakwood Correctional Institution as a corrections officer. He was a very jovial and cheerful person that was loved by all. He had a contagious smile that brightened any room he found himself in.

Lain was a lover of hiking and target shooting. He had a kind soul with a large heart and never judged anyone. He was full of talent and had a humble and trustworthy personality. There was never a dull moment with him because he loved to cheer those around him and made sure they were all happy.

Survivors

Lain is survived by his very “Special” friend Brenna N. Brazle, six siblings; Sydnie Hammons, Layne Chapman, Cooper Chapman, Tysen Patterson, Ashtyn Patterson, and Sophia Patterson; grandparents Mike and Deb Ulm and Greg and Nancy Patterson, all of Shawnee; William “Bill” and Margie (d) Grigsby of Spencerville and Mike and Janey Chapman of Dallas, TX. and great grandparents Bill and Beverly Corwin of Lima. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Preceding him in death are great grandparents Willie and Rita French, Richard and Mary Anne Zimmerman, and Albert and Mary Patterson.

Funeral Services

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, in the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville with Pastor Andrew J. Atkins officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Spencerville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2/4 and 6/8 PM on Monday and after 9 AM on Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America.

Conclusion
