Captain Roy Sewell , 27, of the North Tazewell Volunteer Fire Department, passed away on Monday night in a roll-over tanker accident while en route to help with a medical emergency. Inside the cab, Captain Sewell was severely injured.

With a daughter named Delta who is two years old and a baby boy named Everett due in approximately two months, Captain Sewell and his wife Randi are already parents.
Following are the arrangements for Captain Sewell:
On Saturday, April 29, 2023, between 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM Eastern Time, everyone is asked to line up at DeRoyal Industries (1211 SR-33 New Tazewell, TN 37825). At 12:50, staff members will cross the street to the Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home and load Captain Sewell for his last trip.
A Celebration of Life Service with Fire Service Honors will be place at Claiborne High School at 2 PM. The procession is expected to leave the funeral home at 1 PM.
Immediately following the memorial service, there will be a visitation.
